Why won't it stop raining?!?

Gaaah! This construction is moving along at a snail's pace.

Northern moon snail (Lunatia heros)

If only there were 3 days straight of sunshine... 3 days, that's all they need...

Also, I could be getting my travel date any day now....

Edit: Yay, I just got a phone call from a local nurse who runs a clinic we signed up for. We're in! We'll have to miss a session of Chinese lessons for it. But it's an important clinic. It will help us with care and feeding of AwesomeCloud upon first receiving him in China. His pediatrician recommended it.

We probably won't absolutely need the clinic, but more preparation is better than less preparation. We don't need Chinese lessons either. But we like to be educated. I don't need to be reading all these books about Chinese culture and studying up on Eastern philosophy, either. But if I didn't, I wouldn't be being myself.

  1. Hey! I saw a few of those! =) And their handywork too! I really, really wish the rain would move out long enough for your roof work to be done too! Shoo rain, shoo!

  2. Yeah, we got a great view of the moon snail with you around! When we took Josh, we found a couple live ones but couldn't see them very well - they were dug into the sand - so I looked this guy up on teh Google.

Thanks for the no-rain wishes. Let's hope your wishes are more effective than mine.

  3. I'm crossing my fingers that you get a few days of NO RAIN so that you can just focus on that beautiful boy you're about ready to bring home! Even though your little one is so young, I think it's a great gift to him to read about and learn about Chinese culture. Our Maia has suddenly shown a huge interest in China after barely mentioning her homeland for the first three months. I think their interest in their birth country waxes and wanes, so it's always a wonderful idea to have tidbits to share with them.

  4. I hope GuiGui takes an interest too. Not only do I want to know the answers before he starts asking questions, but I also want to teach him that it' okay to ask. It's okay to be curious. There's a lot to love about being Chinese.

What were Maia's first questions? Maybe GuiGui's questions will be similar.
